Changing Seasons

Changing Seasons   Fall is the Wasatch is a time to remember – brilliant colors breaking out across the ridgelines set against freshly fallen snow on the high peaks. It was a magical morning at this isolated location above Cascade Springs, accessible only by Jeep. It was towards the end of a spectacular color season with aspens and scrub oak starting to get muted. Fresh snow had fallen on Mount Timpanogos, with a puffy cloud coming in to frame the scene. Photographed with a Nikon D700 with Nikkor 70-300mm VR zoomed to 116mm. Exposure on the tripod was f16 at 1/20th, with a bit of a graduated neutral density filter to keep the sky honest.
